The Adventures of Rodney & Me is about the escapades and friendship that developed between a pet turtle, Rodney, and his owner. What I like most about the book is the descriptive writing and the large colorful pictures, which really drew me into
the story. The book is not only entertaining and informative but also teaches the pet owner responsibility, and proper diet and exercise are necessary for a pet. The do’s and don’ts of turtle care translate into responsible pet ownership and hopefully into
taking responsibility for all aspects of ones life.
The fun facts glossary and the information on famous pet rocks will encourage curious minds, young and old, to do additional research into the many new words and places introduced in the book.
I’ve always been an avid reader and I am sure I would have read and reread this book many, many times as a child.
